Workout Gear for Christmas

Getting some new exercise gear for Christmas helps me want to get back into my old workout routine, but they surely don't replace the workouts I missed... Wowzers!  This Christmas I got a pair of Asics tennis shoes and some new Reebok running tights.
The tights are similar to these, but aren't exactly the same ones.  Mine are purple ombre, which you can tell the color fades down towards my calves.  In this photo, the shoes are a washed-out pink... in person, holy smokes they're PINK!

To be perfectly honest, I haven't worked out since we got home from Las Vegas on December 12.  I did pretty well between Thanksgiving and leaving for Nevada, but I came home feeling pretty crap-tastic!  Warning: Las Vegas, with all it's excitement, lights and fun will wear you down!  Between being sick and the holiday hustle, working out kept getting moved lower and lower on my list of priorities.

Yesterday morning I took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather (it was in the 50's here!) and put in some road time.  For those of you who have never ran on a rural country road... Ugh, you're not missing much!  It's all well and good one direction, but then when it's time to turn around and head back home you're inevitably running into the wind.  Nothing like getting some cardio and resistance training in all at once!  In addition to my run, I came home and did some squats and an arm circuit from my Pinterest board. Today, shock of shocks, my legs are VERY sore!

How many of you have let your workouts slip over the holidays?

Who's getting back on the wagon before all the New Year's resolutions flood your Facebook page, Instagram accounts and blog rolls?

On the Eve of Christmas

I'm very much looking forward to spend a low key day quoting lines from my two favorite holiday movies...White Christmas and Elf!  After I get motivated, I'll start putting things together to head to my parents for our annual Christmas festivities.

Today's agenda includes:
  •  Drink coffee and eat a healthy breakfast of Christmas cookies
  • Relax on the couch and watch several Christmas movies which include: White Christmas, Elf and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

  • Pack up luggage, food and gifts to take home to my parents farm
  • Drop off several plates of cookies and gifts
  • Head to Christmas Eve service at church
  • Munro family gift exchange
  • Hope for snow overnight so we can have our own White Christmas

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas spent with friends and family!

Merry Christmas!

Wowzers, where has this year gone?!?!  I'm a bit ashamed to say that this is only the fifth post I made all year!  Yikes.   I'd like to think I was just so busy living life to blog about it...

Well anyways, onward and upward!

For the last several years I've been mailing out Christmas cards and this year is no different.  I went with Shutterfly this year because of their wide array of layouts, backgrounds and not to mention I got in under the wire for a deep discount!  Winning!

Selecting just the right photos for our card is always the hardest part for me.  I want to make sure the card represents our whole family and everyone looks smashing as well!  Vain?  Yes.

The photo of Matt and Bella is from their annual hunting trip to Canada.  I'm always pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality of photos the guys come home with every year.  The photo of Louie and I is from an Illinois Paint Horse Association show we went to this past summer.
Side note:  We did so awesome at this show, coming home with several firsts and the High Point Novice Amateur award!
The photo of Miss Bella is one of my favorites!  Yes, she's incredibly spoiled, but I dare you to say "No" to that face!  Finally, the picture of Matt and I looking smashing is from our good friends wedding this past November.  We do, on special occasions, brush off the horse hair and get out of the camo for a fun night out!

We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 2013 was a great year for the Ringler family and we look forward to what 2014 holds!
